They don’t include everyone
It’s hard to build a competitive advantage around a few perceived super stars. Leadership initiatives targeting those at the top and high potentials present partial solutions. Top down approaches to culture have limited impact because prescribed change, change that is rolled out is rarely embraced.
They don’t develop the relevant skills
Innovation is the latest business buzzword, yet paradoxically standardised solutions are the norm. Standardisation stifles creativity – there is no one-size-fits-all for leadership success. Focusing on functional expertise, content delivery, Best Practice and ready-made answers won’t cut it. Increasing complexity calls us to develop more mature thinking, acting and relating.
They don’t embed sustainable change
Change is a process, not an event – it requires personal relevance, deliberate practice and putting the work in the middle. Event driven approaches are often costly, time-consuming and consultant-centric. These approaches mostly leverage scenario based learning or generating peak experiences and rarely translate to sustained new individual behaviours and collective ways of working.
They don’t support feedback and analytics
If it isn’t measurable then it doesn’t measure up. Unless you’re leveraging technology, it’s likely any mechanisms around social interaction and proactive feedback aren’t great. Smile sheets measure little more than likeability. More comprehensive surveys and assessments can be complicated and involve lots of waiting between results.

Ami is an executive leader with a career spanning Big 4 consulting in the UK and Australia, heading up a multifunctional business unit within a Big 4 Bank and roles with regional Asia Pacific responsibility. She has extensive experience in large-scale technology development and implementation and transformational change programs. Ami founded her own consulting practice in 2010 and has extensive expertise across numerous leading-edge coaching methodologies and theories of human change. MindNavig8or is the result of Ami’s extensive research and application around overcoming the well-documented limitations of traditional leadership solutions. Her personal mission is to leverage technology for increased accessibility and for effecting genuine reform in organisational cultures, communities and schools.
Simon is a visionary entrepreneur, with over 20 years experience creating and building brands in specialist markets. He is currently Group Business Development Director of the Red Snapper Group and a Non-Executive Director of Osirium PLC. In 1998 he founded Acumin Consulting, (now part of Red Snapper Group; In 2007 he co-founded RANT events; and in 2011 he co-founded IT Growth Strategies, an interim executive leadership business for growth companies. Simon is passionate about human capital, culture and leadership and advises many high growth organisations around new market development, M & A, growth strategy and building high performance teams.
Jenny’s most recent roles include Group Director Digital and Transformation at St John of God Healthcare (SJGHC), Chief Digital Innovation Officer and Non-Executive Director. She has also held board positions with Talent International and the Optus Advisory Board. Jenny has led large-scale cultural change and has significant experience in innovation and transformative projects with a focus on improving performance and morale. She brings rich experience and business acumen in IT strategy creation and implementation, having influenced direction in IT outsourcing, system developments and mergers, turn-around teams and enterprise architecture. Jenny is a long term, dedicated practitioner in her own spiritual journey and is passionate about cultural evolution and initiatives that help leaders move beyond fear-based actions.
Rod is Ex-Managing Director and Executive Director of David Jones Ltd (1987-1994). Most recently, he was engaged by Telstra as Retail Director and Principal Business Consultant within the Capability & Innovation team, with particular focus on the implications of new technology trends and developments on enhancing competitive advantage. He has significant Executive and Board experience across a broad range of industry sectors including Retail, Property Services, IT and not for profit Aged Care. Other senior executive roles have included) CEO and then Non-Executive Director of Tempo Services Ltd (1995-2005) and Group General Manager of AWA Distribution and Services (1997-2000).
With this innovative online platform MindNavig8or is seeking to make coaching benefits available to all employees. The results were very encouraging; high employee satisfaction, increased team communication, cohesiveness and resilience.
